Let's talk about breakfast

Breakfast is what I get up for in the morning. I mean, other than having to go to work, breakfast is definitely what I get out of bed for. And when you've got this good food on your plate, who wouldn't hop out of bed like it's on fire?

Brunch plate consisting of (from top)- Tofu scramble with broccoli, celery, and carrots, hashbrown waffle with homemade ketchup, and GRITS! with earth balance and a little maple syrup. Ohmygodyum, best breakfast ever.

We ate it out in the serenity garden because it was such a pretty day. This was the afterward. We can really clean house.

I made cinnamon apple hand pies a while back, and had some filling left over. I decided to use it to make Apple Pie-Crumb Cake muffins from VWAV.
Here they are posing lovely in front of the book. Aren't they just darling?
The closeup shot. Yum, don't you just want to eat them up?

Of course, these aren't the only things I eat for breakfast, and both of these can be (and were) eaten at times other than breakfast. One of my favorite things for breakfast actually is cereal (hot or cold). A little boring, I know. But, you have to admit it's practical. What else can you fix in under 5 minutes, has a million different flavor and texture combinations to choose from, and will keep you going until lunch time? One of my top picks right now is Barbara's Bakery Shredded Oats. But, when your sugar tooth comes a callin', go make thee a muffin!

Your breakfast looks great! We've been wanting to make hashbrowns with tofu scramble.

For breakfast, we usually have cereal, and then weekends we make something big, like biscuits or scones, etc. Oatmeal we enjoy once a week, too.

Our favorite cereals are Barbara's Shredded Oats, Nature's Path Heritage Flakes, and Kashi's Shredded Wheat. In the summer, cereal for breakfast was even more tasty, because we would have it with some fresh berries or peaches!

Yay! I'm glad you got to go and you enjoyed it. Did you have a good time at the Chili Fest? I wish we could have met up. We probably crossed paths without even knowing it.

It was great to see you last night, and I'm glad you made to the Persian Feast we did. I wish I had seen you then, a group of VRA members were there, and you could have met them.
